2. Moist Heat Cooking Method

Water, liquid, or steam transfer heat to food in this method. It includes roasting, simmering, boiling, and stewing. The cooking temperature is kept low in this method. This method involves cooking food by exposing it to steam, which is used for cooking vegetables, fish, and dumplings.

3. Combination Cooking Method

The combination cooking method uses both methods, i.e., the dry heat cooking method and the moist heat cooking method. It results in a delightful and flavor full dish. This method stir-fried food in a dry wok or pan and steamed it with a small amount of liquid. It is mostly used for Asian dishes. This method involves sauteeing food in a dry pan with a small amount of oil and deglazing it with a liquid such as stock to create a sauce.

4. Sous-Vide Cooking Method

Sous vide cooking is a method of cooking food in which a vacuum-sealed bag is placed in a water bath at a precise temperature for a specific period. The water bath is heated to a precise temperature. The food is cooked slowly over a longer period than traditional cooking methods. The benefits of this cooking include precise temperature control, which allows for perfectly cooked food every time. It also helps to retain the natural juices and flavors of the food and prevents overcooking. Some common examples of food that can be cooked using the sous vide method include meat, poultry, fish, vegetables, and eggs. It is a convenient cooking method that can produce delicious and perfectly cooked dishes.

5. Pressure Cooking

In this cooking method, food is cooked in an enclosed pressure cooker. This method uses steam. It is a fast and efficient method of cooking. It is useful for cooking meat and beans. Its process is simple, add the ingredients with the preferred amount of water and lock the pressure lid. Heat the pressure cooker over high heat until it reaches the desired pressure, usually indicated by a hissing sound. Once the pressure cooker has reached desired pressure, reduce the heat to maintain the pressure and cook the food for the desired time. When the time is over, could you turn off the flame and let it cool? Open the pressure cooker when it has cooled down and check whether the desired food is cooked. It is a convenient cooking method as it reduces cooking time and can be used to cook large batches of food. However, following the manufacturer’s instructions carefully and ensuring the pressure cooker is used safely to avoid accidents is important.

6. Smoking

In this type of cooking method, low heat is produced with the help of wood. Charcoal is also used for cooking food. It adds flavor to food. Different types of wood can be used for smoking to add different flavors to the food. For example, applewood is used for smoking chicken. The length of the smoking process depends on the type and thickness of the food being cooked. Smoking is a slow and low-temperature cooking method that adds a unique flavor to food that cannot be achieved through other cooking methods.
